Our MissionThe Union aim is to offer services in many ways such: Increase production, promote quality of production, standardization of Productions and of course Research and Marketing, Deferent crafts, Workshop‘s owner, seller and also providers of Social Services which they become member of union in voluntary, The Immediate objectives of union are: (a) Promote the democracy and to expand the crafters union all over the country within a democratically principle. (b) Planning and implementing of vocational and educational training for members of union. (c) Introducing procedures though the net and other media to the national and international markets. (d) Organizing exhibitions in inside and outside of the country. (e) Facilitate of import of raw materials for Small and Medium business To implement all these objectives in a better way, we want to participate in this seminar to exchange views and experiences.
Company ProfileFACT is a social, vocational, non-governmental, and non-profit agency made up of voluntary unity of different guilds intended to defend their rights and interests. It is created and functions according to article 35 of the Constitution of Afghanistan and the law of social organizations. FACT is one the oldest social organizations of the country, which was set up in 1987 with the convention of the first general assembly attended by 600 representatives from around the country. The 2nd general assembly that was convened in March 2006 with the participation of 220 elected representatives from around the country, introduced FACT as an organization, which provides services, defends the rights and interests of the member craftsmen who are playing a key role in the economic development of Afghanistan. It also amended the former statute of FACT as well as electing a new leadership through a free and fair election. Guild is the structural unit of FACT obliged to defend the rights of member craftsmen. The guilds in Kabul city are administered by Kabul city council of guilds whereas the guilds in the provinces are administered by provincial council of guilds and they altogether are governed by the central council of FACT. The central council is assigned by the general assembly of FACT to run its affairs in the period between two general assembly of FACT. The general assembly is the decision-making body of FACT, which is held every other 3 year and where the General Director as well as the members of the central council are elected. It also amends the statute and defines the basic lines of FACT activities. Following are the main duties of FACT: · To defend the rights and interests of the member craftsmen before state authorities, NGOs, and persons · To provide services in the areas of development, standardization, and marketing of the products as well as access to micro-credits · To provide work-space and raw materials as well as to make an effective use of the modern technology in manufacturing of the products · To promote the vocational skills of the craftsmen and holding of literacy courses for illiterate member craftsmen At present, the number of FACT members reaches 31000 craftsmen organized in 350 different guilds in Kabul city and in 14 provinces and 5 districts. FACT moves on in line with the principles of democracy, i.e. voluntary membership, the right to elect or be elected. The central council has established Business Development Service Center in Kabul and also in the provinces which provides the following services to the member craftsmen: · Consultation to get loans · Change of technology · Marketing and exporting · Internet · Awareness and warranty of the quality FACT publishes monthly 1000 copies of a magazine titled “PISHAWAR”.
